I saw an add for a really simple single diamond stone ring at Harry Richies. It's a popular North West shop so you might not have one but I go there all the time! Check new adds if you have one and you might find something. Good luck on the bet!

There are plenty rings with real diamond for that money. If the stone is small enough, it is still real. I've seen some from Zales and Kay at the mall when I was looking to buy gift for my friend.

Wal-mart had them, and believe it or not my local jewelry shop even carries them, I was just looking at one for about $80 dollars.
At that price the stone isn't perfect and it was set in silver but it was a small cute setting.
