I am so tired, sick and fatigued that it is interfering with my work. I am afraid I am going to lose my job because I can no longer keep up with the work. I am a social worker and have a very demanding schedule and job. I am constantly running around, going to court, driving around the city, walking up and down the stairs to see clients. I am so fatigued I can't consentrate on my tasks, when I try to do my normal schedule of about 3-5 visits a day, which means all day driving, I am sick from running around and have even had to pull over on the freeway to throw up. I have had to go home sick or tired many times, but the work is still there for me when I get back. I just got written up last week for failure to meet a deadline. I am already getting very behind and I can't keep up, I'm scared if this continues I'm going to be SOL and lose my job altogether. I have worked this job for 2 years already, so this is not normal for me. I'm just afraid I can't continue like this much longer.

hon, they CANNOT fire you because of you being pregnant! that is called discrimination.
ask for sick leave.

if you are in the early months this is normal morning sickness, and fatigue. it will pass eventually!
sit your supervisor down and tell them that you are pregnant and having HORRIBLE symptoms. you NEED to get your doctor to write you a note for work that excuses you from your job for a few weeks so that you can tend to yourself while this is going on.
they cannot! let you go if you have notified them and given them a doctors written orders.
otherwise you can SUE the state department for discrimination.

Well...pregnancy isn't really a disability, but it is exhausting. The good news is that it gets better. I didn't think I'd ever get through the first trimester, but I kept telling myself, "Thousands of women survive this every day...." and it did eventually get easier. Hang in there....

BTW...I once threw up on the windshield of my car in the middle of a traffic jam. It really does get better...
