I think that USA should be less self-confident concerning that matter, cause we not only China but also Russia becoming more powerful from day to day.
And it is good, cause USA will be more careful in all its actions in the future knowing that against the power there is another power. USA needs a counterbalance to chill out..!

The United States will not be the sole superpower in the world forever. The world will probably be a multipolar world where "blocs" of countries will have a share in what goes on in the world. The US will not evaporate into some 3rd world country, and we will still be a very powerful country, but we will have to share the limelight with other countries.

Who knows for sure. Forever is a long time. It is hard to catch a country - China is growing up but we are not standing around waiting for them. You are growing up but I get another year older too! The USA continues financially to strengthen & militarily to grow in spite of many wanting them to lay down arms & give up.

Seems like, all the nations which has been imposed upon by USA and UK for almost a century, for obvious reasons such as oil and other unfair demands(refer to history), came to realize that, there's no way to be independent and have a US/UK free land and country other than fight. Unfortunately, as long as super powers! continue such an act, there's not long left to be a lost powers!

Nationalism will disappear. Cities will remain but national identities will vanish in favor of a united planet Earth. If the human race is to survive, it's the only option.

of course not, I don't think we are necessarily the most powerful right now. But we certainly aren't the least either.
Instead of worrying about the other countries passing us up, we need to worry about what we can do so we don't fall behind.

Why is it so good to be number one? If China does become number one, guess who becomes the new target and global laughing stock?
