I just gave birth to my second daughter 5 month's ago. I am a month late for my period and I have taken two pregnancy tests that came back positive. My husband and I are excited about it. I do have a doctor appointment coming up in the next few days, but I am very nervous. I am worried about the risks of getting pregnant again so soon and if the doctors are going to yell at me for getting pregnant again so soon. If anyone has been through this before or has any good advice, please let me know. Thanks!

if you doctor yells at you for getting pregnant again...get a new doctor! sometimes...it just HAPPENS. a bit too late for a lecture.
it's not ideal, because your body is still repairing and working on getting back into "pre-pregnancy" condition. so getting pregnant so soon is very stressful on your uterus.
i myself am pregnant. my youngest will be turning 1 this month. but im guessing my daughter was 10 months when i got pregnant.
ideally they recommend 1 to 2 years between pregnancy.
but i think that if your seen by your doc and monitored well you should be okay. you might lose the ability to breast feed your 5 month old ( if you are ), because your body will be using all the energy it used to use in making breast milk for supporting this new baby instead.
other than that...just let your doc know your concerns.

My first son was only 3 months old when I ended up pregnant again. It is harder on your body because it hasn't had time to recover from the first pregnancy. So just be sure to eat extra healthy and listen to your body. My second one was easy....I felt great and half the time forgot I was even pregnant. Maybe it was because I was so busy with my first baby.
It's great having them so close. My boys are now 6 and 7 and they are best friends!

my husband has two brothers that are 10 months apart. His mom went in for her 6 month check up and was preg again.. It's fine i also have a nephew and niece that are not far apart my sister got preg with her sec. 6 months after her son was born.

well i got pregnant when my daughter was 6 months old my doctor did not yell at me actually she congradulated me i guess cause they get more money...lol or more deliveries..but you never know how other doctors are...just dont let them get to you its your life not theirs you and your hubby are going to take care of your baby not them good luck and im due march

It is fine. You'll survive. It will be hardwork when baby #2 arrives and you have two babies. Double diapers, washing, caring etc. Bet they will grow up real close though, that is the one positive having two babies quickly.
