How is his health? Seriously. Is he a diabetic? Have you heard the commercials about ed for diabetics and men with high blood pressure? I request that this man see his dr.-the sooner the better. It could be he is nervous-or something is wrong physically-like an illness or something along those lines. The dr. can answer any questions/concerns the man has on this topic. Please---do not even consider viagra or anything like that without his seeing his doctor first-to see if the dr. thinks it would be ok or not. The side effects from such a drug can cause serious problems if he is not careful, getting dr. ok first. Take care.

Depending on your age, it could be ED (erectile disfunction). They have pills for it, and as you get older, it can be very common among men.
However, if the person is relatively young, he may have had a bad experience with actual intercourse that causes him to be worried or lose confidence, and therefore, loses his erection. Sometimes the best way around this is just to try and talk about it in a non-threating, open conversation manner.
It may be something serious, or something he is ashamed of. The biggest thing is to be accomodating and understanding, and be professional about the situation. Things should turn around in time.

Nerves? Scared of getting her pregnant? Or how about is he wearing a condom? Often times those like cut the circulation some on a penis and if they do too much foreplay with the condom on the man doesn't feel enough "down there" to keep it hard.

Well, I think it could be a number of things..
self confidence,
conscious-- you know.. that whole virgin thing..
responsibility-- doesn't want a baby
maybe he's just not ready..
maybe he's not in the mood..
I'm not really sure because I'm not a guy, it's only my best guess

i would say he is a virgin and extremely nervous... whoever is with him needs to talk to him and tell him it is ok to not be able to do it like a porn star the first time... just be patient, don't rush it, give it time to become un-limp...
