Ae people over concerned with perfect looks?

It seems like more and more people have his ideal mate they are looking for. And I thought that women seemed to have to face this problem of living up to a perfect body. But Guys seems to be under the same pressure. Six pack abs etc... Anyone else noticed this and why do we look to a magazine for how people should look?

Yeah. I think people are way too concerned with looks and not enough about the actual person and their character. Lets be honest the average person doesnt look like sexy Johnny Depp or beautiful Angelina Jolie. I suppose people might have to stop looking for someone that resembles that and just look for a good person

Men are blessed with not having to worry as much as women do. It's a good thing to want to look good but not over do it. I say this because we all need to have our own unique way of being able to be content with our own uniqueness. To be someone we are not, but could look just as good that's nice. But when we are trying to be someone we are not, not good, because that will bring confusion, and anxiety. What ever we have to do to feel good, that is so good for our health, like eating healthy, exercising, buying clothing that fits us right, that helps self esteem issues and skin problems. That is why people will go to magazines, they help out some women how to take care of their skin, and fashion tips, for a man how release himself to connect with his feminine side, witch is totally good. It's good to want to look good, but have a limit!

Yes and I don't see things changing. It has always, always been this way, only the advent of media has brought it right into our homes and in our faces. Advertising is brainwashing. They are trying to get you to buy their products, and promise if you do, you will look like that person in the ad.
