Is it natural for a man *not* to have pubic hair?

College guy here, and I was in the gym today. In the locker-room, I wasn't trying to look or anything, but there was this guy who had no pubic hair whatsoever. I thought guys, all guys, have pubic hair? It doesn't look shaved either. What gives?

Perhaps he shaves, perhaps he waxes.

But is it normal for a man to grow chest hair, or facial hair?

Of course. I mean, even without a beard or hairy legs, guys almost always have pubes, though some do remove them.

But perhaps it is possible for a guy to not grow any pubes at all.

It is not natural to have no pubic hair at all, but the actual amount of hair varies from man to man. Usually men from Native American Indian or Oriental backgrounds have less hair than others, and of course very blond haired folks would be less noticeable. Your person in question may have used a dipilatory made for the genital area, or be naturally somewhat hairless. A little disarming, but not a health threat. If he had hair on the rest of him, my money would be with the diplilatory.

As a guy who has been shaving down there (front & back) for over 20 years, you cannot tell if I ever had hair if I just shaved. I love the smooth feeling and it makes my equipment look much bigger and all the gals I have been with just love it.

And if he shaved it just before going to the gym, would it look shaved?

As well, some groups have a genetic propensity to more or less hair on any given part of their body.

Ask yourself this questions, as well - did this guy have any hair anywhere on his body? If not, he may have a condition known as alopecia. It's not contagious, but it is a condition in which you lose all of your hair.
