To your first question, absolutely not. Playing football in college at any level is impressive (most guys don't even make the high school squad). It's still considered college ball--TV appearances and name recognition aren't what make college football legitimate.
Finally, it would be very difficult, almost improbable to make the NFL, because the level of competition is significantly less than in Div. 1. Guys like Jerry Rice, who I believe was Div. 2, had to put up insane, almost improbable numbers to get even the slightest bit of recognition.

No. I mean you cant get a scholarship to play d 3 college football but it's not embarassing at all. You should be proud of yourself for being able to play any kind of college ball. You probably wont make the NFL from it. I mean I played d-1 college ball and only about 3-5 players each year entered the draft from my team and I was at UCLA.

Definitely not embarrassing. Playing football at any level is not embarrassing. Though the trip to the big show is difficult, it is accomplishable.

Quite a few names come to mind, but the easiest is R.J. Bower. The NCAA leading rusher for a career. R.J. Was signed by the Steelers and made some appearances in games.

If you are considering playing I wish you the best luck, it takes hard work and dedication.

Jerry Rice played in Division I-AA.

And it isn't embarassing as long as you understand that you are playing at a low level and don't get a big head about it. Basically D-III football is just for fun. I bet some intramural football teams at D-I schools are better in terms of skill level.

Playing football in College is very Impressive.... Even if it's D-3.... Many of the guys are the guys who couldn't make D-2 or D-1 Because they "weren't fast enough" or "technically Challenged" in scouts eyes.... Scouts can go shove that you know where!.... D-3 are playing in college.... and their not getting as much Publicity as Troy Smith, or alan branch..... Doesn't mean anything.... And yes they can get drafted... many of them don't though

No its not embarassing. It takes hard work to play well at any level but if your really looking forward to playing in the NFL you might want to transfer to a more prestigous program.
