I am an ancient 57 year old. When I was a kid we not only had rotary dial phones but we also had a party line. That meant you shared a lined with 3-4 other houses. I would often pick up the phone and hear my neighbors conversation. You could not make a call until they hung up. Everybody had their own ring like 2 short and 1 long for example, but if you were not paying attention you could easily answer a call that was meant for for your neighbor. Needless to say any long conversations were frowned on. It is something to remember but I like how it is now much better

Yesterday I got out my old antique phone with a rotary dialer...It still works and I hooked it up and called a friend of mine.
My nine year old granddaughter was in 'shock' to see something that old still working.
(its the kind of phone that has the hang up cradle on the side and you hold the one end up to your ear, to hear, and the other end is still attached to phone so you lean forward to talk on that part. It is the tall and slim kind of old phone)

Wow, great question. It was about sixteen years ago for me, although I do own one that my Dad had in his office when I was younger. It's just a keepsake, don't know if I would remember how to dial the numbers any longer. LOL Have a good night.

I had one, a bright orange wall phone I used up till sometime in the 90s. I gave it to a friend who thought it would be wonderful in her kitchen. She's probably still using it!
