I cannot register on ebay, anyone else having trouble? WHY?!!?

When I go into the register a new account page, I put in a user id and when it searches for availability, it comes back error, try again, and i have tried all evening!!
Frustrating!

Well I just tried to log into my ebay account and it went through maybe you should try it now. Sorry I can't afford more answers :)

Could it be your credit card#?? Maybe entered wrong, there should be something to tell you whats wrong.
