ok, php is the coolest programming language ever to come onto the internet/intranet scene. with php you can do all sorts of cool things, like create web pages that access databases to get their data or read rss feeds or whatever you want to do. hell, php can even walk your dog for you. i use php. if you dont use php...you should..it sure as hell kicks the butt out of asp, jsp and cfm

php is a server side languge which means when you go to a php site the server puts all the content on the page via the server then sends it to you


php is not only ran on Linux platform it can run on any os
but linux is probly the most secure

PHP is just a internet coding language supported by Linux platform and is used to connect with database. It is similar to ASP which are used for Windows.
