Each nucleotide is made up of three basic parts: a 5-carbon sugar called deoxyribose, a phosphate group, and a nitrogenous base. There are 4 kinds of nitrogenous bases. Those are adenine, guanine, cytosine, and thymine. Adenine is complementary to Thymine. Guanine is complementary to Cytosine.
