Kali, Escrima, and Arnis are the terms for the fighting arts of the Philippines. Kali is a Southern Term, Escrima more Central, and Arnis is from the North. The differences in culture from region to region bred a great diversity in style that we as students now have the ability of enjoy as diversity of application. Kali is the mother art of the modern Filipino Martial Arts but when Filipino society was under Spanish colonial control, all martial arts were banned. Elements of Kali were hidden in folk plays and native dance. Later under Spanish influence, the native art became known as eskrima, estocada, arnis de mano or arnis. As a student progresses in the ASP system the ideas of motion do transfer from weapon to weapon including single and double stick, stick and dagger and single dagger drills.
The Spanish occupation lasted for more than 400 years and influenced the art a lot with the Spanish fencing. Kali is also known by names such as Eskrima or Arnis. Because of all the different dialects, there are many different names. Sikaran is influenced by the concept of the old bodyguards at the Majapahit Kingdom. They were the best fighters from Southeast Asia. Everything from Thaiboxing, Pentjac Silat to Kali, among many other arts, are included in the system. Sikaran is the empty hand transfer from the principles of the weapon art of Kali. Therefore, Kali has many similarities with other martial arts, notably Silat and Kuntao. Kali development in the Philippines was influenced by the conquest of the Spanish who prohibited the carrying of weapons. This in turn led to the development of the stick fighting element where the bladed arts were trained in secret, using the stick and, where possible, the blade.

Sayoc Kali is a knife-based style of Kali. It is a family system, headed by Christopher Sayoc, Sr.. The motto of the style is, "All Blade, All the Time" .
Sayoc Kali is also taught as part of the more general Sayoc Fighting System, which includes the sword, stick, tomahawk and whip. The Kerambit may also be used. Sayoc Kali emphasizes the correct and effective use of the blade, including single knife, multiple knives, projectiles, and secondary support to firearms. The empty hand training is called Sayoc Silak.

Sayoc is a clan in the Philippines. They are Filipinos. Not Malaysians. Even the trainers of Tommy Lee Jones and Benicio Del Torro are Filipino Americans.

Anyway, Zholla answered it correctly.

P.S. Check out movies like the Bourne Identity series, some Steven Seagall movies, Big Stan, Wrong Side of Town and the Book of Eli. Also check out the fight scenes on the TV series Leverage.

philipino kali is actually based on live blade technique. When the spanish invaded the philipines thats when it was created I think and the escrima sticks used for practice eventualy took place of the live blades that they used to use in war. My guy is the international champion at the gathering of warriors in the philipines. he won every division. they had knife fighting, escrima, long sword too. the other style I dont know of but i'm sure you can google it.
