I think Europeans are a lot more intelligent and cultured than Americans. They seem to be more classy but tandthey seem more serious than Americans.

I've spent a lot of time in Europe, and I live in the U.S., and believe me, the places are not as different as people might think. Some people (mostly Europeans) like to say that Europeans are more classy, intelligent, cultured, etc. than Americans, but I haven't seen that to any higher degree than I have with Americans. It's about equal. Some Europeans are more classy, some are more rude.
The biggest difference I've found, is that in Europe, they're not nearly as RUSHED as we are here in the states. It's a much more laid-back lifestyle.

I think the differences are diminishing and unfortunately in the wrong direction. I'm American and I think we tend to think more in terms of immediate gratification, the short term gain and look at the world from the "we are the greatest country in the world" perspective. I don't think most Americans appreciate how really offensive this is people from other cultures. The latter attitude really keeps us from considering the needs and concerns of other nations or the ideas or innovations they have developed to problems we also struggle with. I think that WWI and WWII really taught Europeans that they have to cooperate and respect one another.

Europeans are so varied, as are Americains, therefore as you said a broad question. I have previous heavy associations with both and perceive that whilst in general US citizens appear more congenial and open they in fact are not, whilst the western EU are the opposite and harder therefore to get to know.
The divide between the north and south US is still in existence and at times I felt there is more of a variance between them than between say the UK and the North CONUS.

There are so many I don't know where to start. Stuff here that we consider taboo like cussing on television and nudity on television are regular things in Europe. So is nudity out in public on billboards and such. People eat far better in europe than they do in America. Everyone cooks stuff from scratch and their food is so much healthier. There's a lot more but I know how annoying long answers are to read, so I'll quit there.

They're exactly the same. Just with different accents.
America just has more people, so more bad examples.
US has white trash, Brits have chavs.
We do have Bill Gates though. ;)
