I work in a busy atmosphere. Lately, there have been several occasions where things have come up missing (money, clothing, glasses, etc), but I close the store everynight and know exactly what is there when I leave, but when the girl opens in the am, either something is missing or something has been vandalized. we need to find an inexpensive way to catch this person, so it doesn't seem as if everything keeps happening on my shift. Any ideas?

what about a hidden camera.

Beyond that,
if you have a digital camera, take a few pictures of the place when you leave each night
and demand that the person opening up the store do the same.

how many people work for you.
If you have a suspect, that will make it a bit easier as you can set a 'trap' for him.
(maybe leave a small safe with a gps in it)

This question is f*cking brilliant. I love how barely any conservatives attempted to answer the question. Countries like Germany and Northern Europe have the strongest union rights and the highest standards of living. Sure the CEOs in Germany or Finland may not be as rich as here, but everyone there works harder and they all have a wage in which they can live on. Sadly, the right wing Fascists here in America have been brainwashed into believing that union groups who fight for the rights of workers are somehow a plague to this country. If we didn't have unions, we'd be an American version of modern day China.

set out a trap where the thief gets locked in. Don't tell anybody just do it alone. The more people you tell the more chances you have to fail. SO... judging by the stuff the thief takes, leave or fake leave stuff like you had forgotten it. Tell somebody to remind you to take that with you so you won't forget it. Forget it on purpose...If you or somebody you know owns a webcam you can set to computer to take surveriilance clips when you are away. and what's best you can remote assist your computer at work from home. and watch it from your own comfort. By morning you have your buddy. Also, hide the webcam camouflage it well... ( if you already have this stuff, it should not be expensive at all)

Today there are inexpensive so small of surveillance cameras that can be activated certain times. I suggest you let something ( marked) in a place where it may disappear with the camera pointed in that direction. Also, you should have it taped to a VCR in you not decide to have the camera inner tape. Also, put a piece of masking tape on the bottom, doubled, stick side on counter, and other sticky side to abject, when moved, the tape will curl, make it small and unnoticeable Good luck
