I was just wondering what would be a very romantic, inexpensive gift for valentine's day??

If he can't or isn't allowed to leave yet, you could get one of those battery operated lights that looks like a candle stick, the DVD player or laptop and a couple of movies you know he'd like, a bottle of sparkling white grape juice and maybe some take out from someplace he loves to eat (again ask his doctor or his nurse if the food will be ok. Let them in on it and they will probably be more than willing to help you out with the surprise. Also get or make him a sweet or even humorous card. IF the nurses will help you, you could give him the card and act like that is all you got him, then have them wheel in the food and stuff on a cart, with the candle/light already lit.

That's terrible news! I hope he's feeling better soon!

I bet he's bored to death in his hospital room. You should find something that will entertain him; you'll have to decide what he likes, though, as you know him better than I do. Does he like video games for example?

You could also make him a home-cooked dinner. Most people LOVE it when their loved ones cook for them! I bet he would be especially grateful for a decent meal after having to eat all that awful hospital food. You may also want to make him cookies or something, to get him through the next few days.

get him take-out from his favorite restaurant (if he can eat outside food?) and find a way to watch a movie with him. If it means bringing a dvd player to hook up to the tv, or even borrowing someone's laptop that will play it.

You mean he actually got "hit" by a car? Get him a leash something and tell him to "stay" on the sidewalk...

-Jeez
