Get a tape drive and make a full backup of the system before doing the following:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/216899

Here's another page with some information on AD backups:
http://technet2.microsoft.com/WindowsServer/en/library/9c0f86c4-def6-42f5-9c1d-a9292b4905821033.mspx?mfr=true

If you're using Exchange, you shouldn't need to backup Outlook, just make a copy of the archives. Otherwise, you'll need to backup all the .pst files on the server (there shouldn't be ANY because you should never use a server as a workstation).

As for other server software, you're on your own. Backup any database files and their corresponding transact logs, make sure you have installation discs for server apps, and make sure you know the settings for all the apps and shares, if any.

Don't worry about the client systems unless you plan on rebuilding them, too.

Hi

i will suggest u to install the veritas backup exec trial version ,it will run for 30 days ,this u have to install in another server with huge disk space

after u installed take the full server backup and rebuilt the server with same name and Ip address than restore the backup configuration

Please dont worry about the client part ,as soon as u rebuilt the same configuration,it work fine or restart once

you can use any of the raid technologies to backup data and as far as settings are permissions are concerned i dont think that is possible i suppose you'll have to reconfigure everything again
