Probably the same reason that my son was stopped by the police frequently (he's white) when he was 16 and got his first car.
We lived in a really small small town and I bought him a 1962 Ford Falcon stationwagon...it had a custom cream and tangerine orange paint job (orange rims) and was a nice little classic car. Well they stopped him for everything you could think of...never a ticket...just stopped him.
He was young, had a decent looking car that looked a bit out of the ordinary...so....well of course that must mean he's a trouble maker...
It's all in perception...as you get older you learn not to worry about what other people think....

because drug dealers have rims on their cars so it is a stereotype given by people that all people with rims are drug dealers. this isn't true of course and it puts a bad label on people who have rims that aren't dealers but that is just how it is. i remember that one time when i was out in the city with my car, every stop sign or light i would stop at people would come up to me and asked me if i wanted weed or if i had any so you are not the only one this has hapened to. this is just something that people like you and me have to live with. hope this helps. good luck.

A typical case of profiling. Same way I get edgy when I see those people with spiked hair cuts that go 10 feet in the air and they have railroad ties embedded in their skulls and razor blades stuck in their lips with black eye lenses and bright red lips and razor sharp teeth and they want to park my car.

I don't let them, is that bad?

Many people think when they see a black man that's raised himself up and made something of himself financially that he is into something illegal. Thats a very unfortunate belief. Keep doing what you are doing. You have done nothing wrong, let some people think what they will.

You need not worry what people think of you my good man.

What only matters is how you think of yourself.

The stereotypes of people placed on TV are with a purpose. We just have to deal with it and fight on.

Think nothing of the people that think that. You are an example of why they shouldnt think that you carry yourself as such.
