You can't quit your job, you can't avoid the person, basically you have to be there. this one person is the one and only person in the entire place that you cannot stand, not because they are a**hole or anything, but because they are nice to you and you know beyond a shadow of a doubt that the person is trying to de-rail you behind your back. The supervisor knows that this person is a piece of crap but can't do anything because they have tenure and can't be fired. what do you do?
Basically, what I want know is how to really f**k with them...psych games.

let me elaborate...I love my job. it is a great job, if you read the above paragraph you will see that this person is the ONLY person in the entire company that I do not like....that's pretty good in a company of more than 3000 employees. The job pays well and I love it, I just do not like my immediate co-worker.

I assume this is a fairly ok sized company. Why dont you take on different roles assignments, maybe something of seniority where you end up telling that jerk off what to do? You may even end up doing somethign completely different that has nothing to do with that individual. Be as behind the scenes as they are. Figure out what other roles are open in the job and POST YOUR RESUME.

If this is not so, I say annoy this fool with niceness as much as possible as well. Take them to lunch and annoy them with dumbass questions. Send them repetitive emails about workplace etiquette. Talk to them CONSTANTLY. Arrange meetings. Go to their house lol.. You may have to go outside of yourself for this one but if you give them equivalent shyt this may deter them. Follow them constanly and be their best friend to the point where they cant stand the sight of you and wish they dont see you in their dreams. Apparently they got under your skin so go and do the same if you know whats best for you.

Every place I have ever worked at has at least one of these kind of people. There's really not a lot you can do about it other than go in and do your job and try not to let this person agravate you so much. I don't know any pranks you could do that wouldn't get you into trouble so about all you can do is put up with it and hope one day he will come in and say he's retiring. Good luck!

re: you know beyond a shadow of a doubt that the person is trying to de-rail you behind your back
Do the same to them - find a subtle way to point out their mistakes (without being pompous - a skill best practiced), call attention to your accomplishments, and be sooooooooo nice to them, they will feel like such a shmuk for their behaviour! Work with them on every project, give them the meanial details to cover, then present what you have done (makes it seem like they are not pulling their weight). Basically screw tham over every chance you get. We all have to put up with one of these, but I found killing them with kindness (to their face) is one of the best strategies. Here's the DON'T - DON'T beak about them to others at work or the boss. Then you become known as "that guy" who beaks about everyone. He/she will find out and feign innocence as to why you don't like them. Be the nice one and subltly undermine them every chance you get. They'll get the picture and you'll look like the consumate nice guy!

confrontation and backbone is the only real answer. Do it in the workplace, in front of relatively everyone, calling her from homestead became right into a huge MISTAKE. she would be able to deliver this on your boss and use this against you, ***** you're harassing her. You stop, you lose, and you apart from might lose shallowness on account which you be attentive to you gave up. She'll be strengthened and be attentive to it labored, and in all probability practice it on her next sufferer. You confront her, have it out, get it resolved, she would be able to appreciate you and different workers will appreciate you and doubtless no longer foster her wagging tongue from now on. You by no potential be attentive to, you may as nicely land up being pals in case you knock her down a peg or 2- I even have considered this take place.

It seems like what he/she's doing to you is working pretty well.? It always sucks when a person is generally nice but is a snake at the same time. Do the same thing. Be nice to the person and find ways to move up higher than them. You could lose your job if you screw around with him any other way. I wish I could give you more satisfaction like gluing them to something but, As you said you love your job. So you have to find ways to be smarter than him/her.

Just avoid them.. no use talking to them if you know they are two-faced, just be pleasant enough not to seem like a jerk but there's no need to take it beyond that.

Get a life and quit your job. If you can't handle it, move on.

Besides, any company that won't fire a loser is a dead-end ladder, anyways.
