im so happy you asked, my birthday was jan 8th and i told my hubby to take me out to a nice dinner and to have them sing me happy birthday and give me some chocolat cake or a brownie. we ended up going to chili's where they 'dont sing happy birthday' because they suck and all i got was a scoop of boring vanilla ice cream, and when i asked my husband why he ordered me ice cream, he said ' thats the only desert they give for free if it's your birthday!!" i was SSOOOO mad at him!! he basically told me that i wasnt worth a 2 dollar friggin brownie! and the worst part was... he didnt sing happy birthday to mw after we tgot home or anything, he just didnt care enough, i wanted to punch him in the face so hard. well, his birthday is coming up in march and im going to make sure no one sings him happy birthday!! ( his mom actually called and sang it to me over the phone, and that made me feel better a little bit, but i was still really mad at him)

lol I usually lie and say it's my birthday when I go to this Mexican restaurant, just so I can see them sing for me with those sombreros and they give me a free dessert and everything. There's 4 of those restaurants here so I can lie 4 times a year. WOOT!

I wait til they are done, if someone told the restaurant to begin with, that it was my birthday. I smile though, last time I had that happen I turned 25 and the waitress sent out a cupcake with a candle, so that was nice of her.

I don't like it myself, but if it is someone else's birthday I will sing along, even if I don't know them because I think it makes them feel special. =)

I feel sorry for the restaurant employees who've already had to sing it several times earlier that evening.

At my age, 58, I'm just durn happy to have another birthday alive to celebrate...lol

yeah i sing along for sure. at this one mexican resturant we go to they put a sombrero on our head and whack it. its funny to watch a little painful, at times, to endure though. then they give you a bite of the dessert they bring out and purposly smear it all over your face.
