Ima have to say both, im currently suspended for 3 days but I had to do my finals, so they made me come to school and sit infront of the office (the desk outside where everyone walking in the hallway can see you) and its pretty damn embarrassing to be in 11th grade and sit infront of the office doing a test like its elementary school

Physical punishment would be the most brutal of school punishments and illegal. Students are subjected to emotional punishment every day, unfortunately.

In a town where I lived a high school girl said some valuables from her gym locker were stolen, so the teachers made each student in that gym hour strip down naked and be searched. this was in whitmore lake michigan about 5 or 6 years ago. The high school is very small only about 20-30 per graduating class.

Emotional because the scar brought about by this punishment is never been healed. The student will carry it even in his old age.
But even you are physically punished it bring emotional scar to the student.
Better talk to them about the consequences of what they did.

Both, exactly.
Ironic, last night I had this discussion.
And came up with answer that both punishment can cause distress. And pupils can lose interest in school by being demotivated.

depends on the age i guess, although I don't think really emotional punishment is allowed at school either.
