absolutely !
to think that we are the only intelligent lifeforce in the entire universe is either hugely egotistical or totally ignorant.

If there isn't another planet with people on it, I would be very disappointed! The universe is such an expansive area, one can only assume that we are not the only intelligent beings in it. This does not mean that other inhabitants are just like earthlings. Just because we breathe air to survive, does not mean that other in-habitants do also. Suppose they breathe CO2 to survive, or they may not have to breathe at all because they don't have lungs?! I truly believe that there is other intelligent life out there and they have been trying to contact us for a long time, it just hasn't been productive yet! But, I BELIEVE!

Astronomers are now identifyting planets which are quite similar to Earth and there are candidate planets for those most likely to be able to have developed recogniseable lifeforms. If only one in a trillion could support human-like life, that's still millions upon millions of planets. They are ALL just so very far away that contact will have to be when we have a whole new science for travelling or sending messages across intergalactic space.

I don't necessarily believe people will be on another planet, but I would think some form of life would be. Although there can't be anything on Pluto as it isn't a planet anymore :(

there are more galaxies in the universe than there are stars in our galaxie. Which, BTW, contains over 100 billion stars.
Of course there's other life out there. Wouldn't be surprised if somewhere, it was pretty humanoid.
However- it's so far away that we'll never see it or know for sure.
It won't be like on Star Trek, where everyone in the universe speaks fluent american style English, except the bridge crew, who all speaks with accents.

So says Carl Sagan: If there's no one else up there it's an awful waste of space.
And I agree. There are too many other stars and planets for there not to be any other intelligent life.

yes, of course. if space goes on and on how can we be so conceited as to think we are the only ones. also, christianity plays a big part in peoples beliefs as far as that goes...
there is probably another life form that would see us as animals the way we see animals.

No doubt about it. Sometimes I am amazed when I see my cat looking so different from me, and yet he is breathing, moving and thinking. If beings that are so different can be formed in such a small place like earth, there is no doubt that beings which are similar or different from us can be formed in a vast place like the universe.
