Most school districts say about -35 dgs. Lots of times though they will call it around 30 below. Hope that helps

Live in central Illinois here. It was -20 with the wind chill and the school system did not close down.
Ridiculous. Supposed to be worse tomorrow. I'll be anxious to see what happens.

Southern Wisconsin, today it was -15 and the schools were closed. Of course there was also the wind chill factor, which made it about -36....

HA HA HA...a snow day...what's that. It was -2 degrees here today. and with wind chill. -25 degrees. I still had to work outside. My place of employment only give us 2 days off a year. that's Christmas and Thanksgiving. Other than that. We gotta work. No if ands or buts about it.

up here (northern alberta) it's at -35, when propane will no longer work, therefore the busses can't run. unless there is more than 4 feet of snow over one day, then it's a real snow day...

Depends where you live
Here in Ontario we rarely get snow days cause of the cold,
For snow and ice yeah, but for cold.. they make us suffer :(
