My husband has a back spasm in his Thoracic Rhomboid region.
We have a waterbed. Could the bed be contributing to his continued pain? It's been an ongoing problem for 2 years. He likes the feel of the bed and is not comfortable in our traditonal innerspring mattress. What would be best?

Thank you for your efforts.

it is best that he moves on to using the traditional mattresses for the sake of his back. if he has been having back troubles for about 2 years now it is likely that the waterbed is contributing to his pain. he could be pinching his nerves on his spine.

there has to be traditional mattress out there that suits him fine. he really needs proper back support when he sleeps and i dont think that your waterbed is giving that support.

think of the future you'll have if he continues to sleep on the waterbed.

DEFINITELY. . VERY BAD FOR THIS. . A Temperpedic mattress is wonderful for this, and if you can't afford this, a topper mattress that is 3 or 4 " and made of memory foam, with at least 5 lbs of compression will help him immensely. These sell very well on E-Bay. I use to have pain and extremely restless nights, until I got a memory foam topper. I sleep very well now, and seldom wake more than once a night, now, with no aches or pains. I do wake with pain and wake often, using only an innerspring mattress, no matter how firm, or padded it is. This memory foam is a dream come true invention and supports the body evenly, and contours to it, so that the body doesn't have to try to conform to a mattress, or have to move with the motion of a water bed. I'll bet your husband has been in a tremendous amount of pain! This is so awful to have to endure.

Waterbeds do not mix with ANY back injury. He needs a firm mattress, maybe a memory foam would work nice. Time to visit the mattress store!

Yes waterbeds are not good for your back. Maybe you should get one of those mattresses that like mold to your body....i see them on tv all the time....
