My daughter used to work for a security company in the midwest. She and her partner, both young looking, travelled around thru about 4 states. Dress like teens, go into specific shops that were subscribed to the security service.

They had to do things like eat in the shop lunch counter if there was one, so they could rate the service. And buy a purse, to see if the cashier was looking inside and taking the paper out of it....And see if the displays looked attractive. ... And see if any pricing guns got left out where the public could reach them.

They did a thing where one of them would take an item to the cashier when she was busy with something else, and tell her that they were in a hurry, so here was the money to pay for this item. Just leave the money beside the till. The other one was near enough to see if the cashier put the money into her till or into her pocket.

If the cashier put it in the till, they just went outside, filled out a lot of paperwork to rate the store, then on to the next shop. If the cashier put the money into her pocket, they flashed a security badge and brought her into the office. Cashier would get fired.

They got paid a small salary, and the company furnished the car, the gas & oil, the motel rooms and their meals.

Didn't take long till they both decided that they could make more money and feel less tired doing something else.

I do the mystery shop thing. Here's the website for it and they do not charge you for it either. Been with them for about 2 years now.

I used to do that. You're not going to make a lot of money at it, but it's fun. I decided though that it wasn't worth the gas and wear and tear on my car to do it.
