Hi. I have IBS and Acid Reflux. During the first few weeks of my pregnancy, I had very irregular bowels and a lot of cramping. I too thought something was wrong with my pregnancy. Everything turned out to be just fine. I also had a miscarriage 5 years ago, so I understand your fear. Do not worry so much about it as you may worsen everything. Visit your doctor and have them give you an ultrasound to make sure your pregnancy is in the right place. With ectopic pregnancies by the way, I don't know how far along you are, but you would get major cramping and you would definitely know that it is not your bowels.
Wish you the best of luck, stay positive and stop worrying. See your doctor ASAP!

Cramping in early pregnancy can be cause by many things, implantation, your uteris expanding to make room for your new baby, etc... I had some cramping, and even some bleeding when I was pregnant with my daughter.
With you history I would definately recommend speaking with your doctor about your symptoms as soon as possible, but at the same time I would try to stay as relaxed about the situation as you can. There is no reason to stress before you know what is going on. Especially because stress can cause more problems.
Best of luck!

If you are already diagnosed with IBS, then that could be the cause of your cramping. Depending on how far along you are, you could also be experiencing a few different things. You may be dealing with implantation; if this would be a normal time for your period, it could just be the influx of hormones, you may have gastritis. Also, if you are having any bleeding, remember that red blood signifies new blood and you MUST contact your ob/gyn immediately. If it is brown, then that could be implantation.
Either way, if you are concerned, I would contact your ob/gyn with your concerns and get in as soon as possible.

Hi, First of all I'm sorry you're in such distress. Your symptoms sound like a friend of mine. She was diagnosed with Celiac Sprue, or Celiac disease. Its when you can't properly digest wheat, oats, grains with gluten in it. That raises hell with your insides, causes you to bloat, causes you all sorts of misery. You could try and look that up. If its not that: to me it sounds like IBS, where whatever it is that your eating and drinking are irritating your bowels. Start keeping a food diary, of what you eat and drink and when...and then if you have symptoms. If you end up going to a gastroenterologist, that diary could be very helpful to them. But whatever your case may be, you need to start helping yourself by changing the foods and drinks that you now consume, and research the ingredients of lots of products to see what they contain. There are hidden ingredients in food that you might have to avoid for a while, while you figure out what is bothering you. In the meantime: hang in there, don't give up.

It could really be a number of things. None of us here are qualified to say really. Please make a doctor appointment asap. No amount of cramping during pregnancy is good. I had severe cramping at 15 weeks pregnant, and took myself to the ER. They never did find out what was wrong, but I never had another episode like that. Me and baby are just fine. Good luck to you.
