By far, the coldest place in the United States would be Prospect Creek, Alaska. Temperatures there average 79.8 degrees below zero.

Coldest "officially" recorded temperature was on January 23, 1971 in Prospect Creek Alaska (a construction camp for the Trans Alaska Pipeline)... -80 F (that is without windchill).
We have seen much colder in other areas... Coldfoot @ -89 F
If you toss in the windchill... -135 F in Prudhoe Bay.
Mt. McKinley does get cold, -60 F in the valley would be common... Up on the summit? Who knows ... check out the National Park Service Article below for temps on the mountain.
Alaska will commonly have winter temperatures that drop to -60 and -70 on a regular basis, especially in the Interior and Arctic regions. These temperatures are short lived, only a couple of days maybe a week at a time, although they can last longer.
Despite the cold Alaska is home and always will be. The Northern Lights racing over head... Green, Yellow, and Red... Moose in your back yard, the list goes on.
I have lived here 40 years (born in Hawaii), and traveled all 50 states. I always look forward to being home.

RE:
What is the coldest place in Alaska?
I was just wondering if anyone knew of the coldest place in Alaska. Well, the coldest place that humans inhabit. Also, does anyone know of any high schools/schools in Alaska that are not in a city?

Coldest PLACE is probably on top of Mount McKinley
Elev.: 20,320 ft (6,194 m)
Coldest TOWN is Prospect Creek.
Point Barrow is the northernmost land point in the USA and it is inhabited.
Alaska has quite a network of statewide correspondance schools. (I don't know whether or not they count!)

You can find all this out if you look on the internet. I'd say the higher up you go in Alaska, the colder it gets. It can get in the -15's in fairbanks. And all the schools I went to were in citys.

Tok and Chicken get down to -80 on occasion.
What is a city? Tok is unincorporated and has a K-12 and university extension campus. "All" villages have schools if the student population is high enough. Maybe 12
