I agree...Peyton winning mvp honors was purely political. MVP honors should have been awarded to Addai and Rhodes, who both played fantastically; it was obvious these two guys were making plays every single play.
As for Peyton, what were his stats, 247yds. passing, 1 td, and 1 int. You look at quaterback stats within the past 15 years. Young 6 td's, Elway 336 yds. passing, 1 td and 1 rushing td., Brady 3 td's, etc. its so ridiculous how Manning got the MVP award, and not the two indy' running-backs.

I agree with the decision to give the MVP to Manning. You have to remember that it is not a flawless game that makes a player an MVP, but it is how much he contributed during the game to secure the win for his team. Peyton Manning didn't play the greatest game of his career. He had one interception and one lost fumble. However, he also completed 25-of-38 passes for 247 yards and one touchdown. On top of that he led Indy to the win. He never lost his composure, not when the Bears were ahead early on, nor after he threw the interception and lost the fumble. It was a team effort, but Manning set the pace for his team and proved himself to be a strong leader. That is why he received the MVP. They could not have given the MVP to Bob Sanders. Although he did force one fumble and had that interception at the end that he ran back 38 yds for a TD, he only had three tackles. The Colt's defense definitely plays better with him, but he did not really lead it during the Super Bowl. And they don't usually give out a Super Bowl MVP for just one or two key plays when you really didn't do anything else the rest of the game. Actually, Derek T. was right. Rex Grossman made it pretty easy for the Colt's defense by playing awful.

I agree that Addai and Rhodes had good games. If I wasn't going to give it to Manning, I think it should have been a 5-way co-MVP with that offensive line. They made sure Manning only got sacked one time. And they flat out beat the Bears up front to get those big holes for Addai and Rhodes.
The Colts did a great job as a team. They beat the Bears at the line of scrimmage. Chicago's defense was on the the field way too long. That is where the game was won. So quit your griping about two meaningless interceptions and get your foot up off Rex Grossman's neck. He's only human. By the way, in case you forgot he made it farther than 30 other QB's.

LOL. You are right about Grossman being the best Colts player on the field on Sunday. However, Iit was nice to see Manning get the MVP. After that shaky start to the game he bounced back quite well and put up some nice numbers, played very consistently in a game where he did not actually get that much time off of the field.

You said:
"I personally think Grossman who was the best Colts player in the"...
Well last time i checked Grossman played for the bears and he did horrible. Grossman freaking sucks. If i had my way i would give the MVP to the Colts offensive line. They gave up one sack the whole game. That was even with the bears throwing different blitzes every other down for the first half.

247 Passing Yards In A SuperBowl!! That Is Great, Most Quarterbacks Don't Break 200 In The Big Game! Not To Mention His Absolutly Brilliant Reads On The Chicago Defense And Great Play Calling!!

MVP - certain. Offensive participant of the year? No. Who had extra of an impact on their crew contained in the league? Manning change into damage early contained in the year and the Colts were plagued with assistance from injuries. Then they ripped off something like 9 wins in a row, and that i imagine Peyton merely threw like 3 options throughout that element. They couldn't of finished that devoid of him. Who else are your options?

i dont agree with manning getting mvp...he played a solid game, but thats really it, just a solid game. the mvp should have been bob sanders, forcing a fumble on that awesome hit and an int was huge! I would also agree with anyone who says rhodes or addai, but cmon show some love for the defense!

Well it was a little hard to give it to Rhodes cause Addai did alot of work as well. Also its very very hard for a defensive player to get a MVP, I think there may only be 2 defensive mvps ever.

Rhodes had a good game, but Peyton played one of his better games, in my opinion. In the rain he he did a good job of passing and reading the defense. Unlike Rex, he didn't try to force anything, outside of that pic he threw on the first drive.
