That it's possible to die from excessive consumption of it and that most people are exposed to it on a daily basis. Anyone know anything about this substance?

Dihydrogen oxide is water written in nomenclature terms. Di means 2. H2O

that compound is improperly named- it should be dihydrogen monoxide.

but what is it? dihydrogen- 2 hydrogen
monoxide- 1 oxygen

It's H20... water
all that stuff about it being hazardous is just a joke. Water is essential for all living organisms, and even things that aren't even living (viruses)

I heard that it is in all our ponds and lakes and oceans and it kills people every year who go swimming.
