First of all, if you are under 35 you should give it at least a year before you get concerned. If you are over 35 then 6 months before you need to consult a physician. And this is only if you are having sex at least 3x a week.
Are you charting your temps? Using a fertility monitor? Or tracking your cycles?
If not, fertility friend (www.fertilityfriend.com), and many other wed sites may help you learn how to track your cycle and help you conceive.
Hang in there honey, there are a lot of couples out there who are trying right now after much longer than 4 months. I know that it is hard, but you have a long way to go before giving up hope. Not to mention, even if you have problems conceiving after tracking your cycle and trying for over a year, there are still lots of options for you such as clomid (*sp?) to help you ovulate, and other medical perscriptions and procedures.
Best of Luck, and baby wishes for you!

So many things affect conception that it's a wonder that people get pregnant by accident as often as they do.
1) General health. Are you both eating right, taking your vitamins, staying off drugs, tobacco, and/or alcohol?
2) Are your periods regular? Irregular periods can really throw off your calculation of "fertile" days. There are only about 3 days each cycle where you can get pregnant, so if you are just "shotgunning it," you may not have good coverage of your fertile period.
3) Does he wear tighty-whities? If he's really trying to knock you up, he should be wearing boxers, so that his testicles are able to be at optimum temperature.
If you're doing all the above, you should have HIM get checked for Sperm Count and Motillity, and if HE'S ok, then have YOU checked for any female problems.
I would also recommend going the "marriage route," because under our current law, it is just so much better legally all the way around - more protection for you, more for the kids you eventually conceive.

Me and my husband have been having unprotected sex for about a year and 3 months, we are still not pregnant. Even if you are both completely healthy theres still only a 25% chance that you will conceive the months when you try.
Its not that long,4 months, if you aren't pregnant within a year, then that would probably be the time to go see a doctor about it. Sorry I couldn't help more.

According to a nurse I had spoken to a year ago or so, if you have been on birth control for a long period of time it might take some time to get pregnant. It can take months and months.... The best thing for you to do it to see an OB/GYN and take a fertility test. It'll clear your mind. :)

Alot of times when people are trying to get pregnant your doctor will tell you to give it at least a year before you get worried. I would say that if your are consuming your every thought with getting pregnant that might be it. Just try to relax. Good luck
