No, I think love is the key to everything in a happy family.
But I do think people mistake other emotions for love on a regular basis. Lust for love is a prime example in society. But there's also the parent that wants to be their child's friend instead of guiding and disciplining them. That's not love, that's chickening out from their responsibilities. There are lotsof other examples of mixing up other emotions with love, or blaming their failings on love, but that gives you a good picture of what I mean.

What do you mean by overrated? I think love is a feeling that you have for another person who is special to you & who care about you. I don't love everybody. Now that would be overrated!

No. The way people describe love in movies and in books tends to make you expect something that is more known as lust, which makes us have this expectation what love will be like. Love is lasting, kind and forever (even when you dont want it to be in some cases). Love is special, love is when you care for someone else more than yourself and you would do anything for them. when it really happens you will think and know the same.

Not when your actually in love. But at the end (or if there is no real relationship) and your heart is broken and miserable, than you wish you never loved. You take the good with the bad, and this questions answers will more than likely be affected by the state of there love life.

Love is never overrated. Love is rare and extremely hard to find but when you do its there forever. I'm getting married in a few months. And I use to think love didn't exist and that even if it did it couldn't last forever. and even when i met my pierre i thought love didn't exist but eventually i realized that it does and me and pierre are more than in love...I hope you find it someday. Never stop believeing that its out there somewhere...and all you have to do is find it.

Yes I do think that love is overated, as most folks do not have a clue what it really is. Love is not the mask of a person or only what they choose to reveal to us. The greatest mistake that we make is falling in love with the mask of the person, whereas we should be loving the character of the person which would show the quality of the individual.

love is never overrated if it is REAL. Fake love to get into someones pants and the girl allowing it cause she so gaa gaa over the boy, now that is OVERRATED LOVE. Used up love.

Love isn't over-rated. But "being in love" on a long term basis is a bit skewed. Ask any married couple. The honeymoon doesn't last forever.

Absolutely not. :-) Love is amazing- wonderful- uplifting. Love gives us the ability to learn, and grow, even when we regret having loved.
