It is the most useless garbage thing that discriminates Asians and Whites. YOU TAKE THE BEST QUALIFIED FOR THE JOBS and SCHOOLS!!
It ticks me off to see how my grades, scores, extra curricular activitves were much better than a lot of other people accpeted yet not get into some colleges.
So basically if a white person and black person are both equal in credentials for a job, the black person gets the jobs because of AA?? BS.

The purpose of affirmative action is the SEED a biased system. The problem with it in my mind is some people see it as an END not a MEANS.

The END should be equality. In fact, it is in ones best interest to judge fairly and Darwinian principles should favor companies that hire FAIRLY. This means minorities would have a fair shake. (Adn whites/asians too, lol). It also means that minorities not LIMITED by token positions only. They can go for it, every time.

Whenever I talk to people who favor affirmative action, I tell them "wait until it directly affects you... if you are denied a job or place in school in favor of someone who's less qualified, simply because of their race, then you will be furious and forever anti-Affirmative Action."

Ya know, it goes back to that old (but true) example: I want firefighters to be the BEST people of all at fighting fires! Whoever scores the highest on the test should get the job, and if a less qualified candidate gets the job simply based on race, then the people in that city could be in real trouble when there's a fire!

Affirmative action un-levels the playing field so that people who can't successfully compete in a fair game still have a chance to win. Think of it like a golf handicap... some people need a little extra consideration so they can sometimes "win" (even if it is unfair to the actually qualified players)
