My friends & I LOVE the Ruby. It's right on the Hollywood strip and has different themes/venues on different nights of the week. The ones I've been to are 80s & English Pop and both were packed with fun people. The club is 18 & up, has 3 separate dancing rooms with different music and each (one plays hip hop, the other two vary), several lounge areas, 4 bars with decent drinks, and a large outdoor area for smoking or cooling off. Parking is just around the corner for $5-$8 for the night. The pizza place just a block down is EXCELLENT for cheap, quick dinners (if you like greasy, NY style that is :-)) and if you're brave, try a street dog after you get out of the club ;-) It's around $12 to get in and sometimes you can get a coupon from one of the local papers in the nearby liquor store that will get you in for 1/2 before 10 or 11.
