Yeah they have recently but I was thinking about how they refuse to investigate certain crimes and it's all left up to the victim to do. Like the case on the news this morning where a 12 yo boy was beat up, ended up in hospital. Police didn't respond, wouldn't take a statement. The mum had to go collect cctv tapes herself etc and hand them in.

Definitely! I am in the military and have countless frivolous laws by which I am supposed to abide (the Uniform Code of Military Justice) plus all these ridiculous command rules that are all punishable by going to Captain's Mast or higher (similar to court). For example, in my command, because some people were drinking underage in other barracks on base, no one in my command is allowed to go to other barracks, punishable under the UCMJ now because it was a direct order. This has such little basis, but all that matters is some chief decided it would make his job easier, when, in reality, it doesn't even do that, because now people like me are raising hell because they can't visit their friends in other barracks WHEN THEY WEREN'T EVEN BREAKING ANY RULES. So if I were to go visit my friend, I could be charged, possibly fined, put on restriction, etc.

Okay, in the civilian world... Police always fail society. How many times have you seen a cop car turn on its lights to run through a red light? How many times has a cop let off a cute girl or guy just for flirting with them or crying? How many times has a cop pulled someone over and wrecked havoc in their life for seeing a gay sticker on someone's car and pulling them over just because they're a homophobic asshole and falsely accused them of serious offenses? I can't even count the times those have happened.

Law... We have so many retarded laws too. I'm having a hard time thinking of some right now, but like in Hawaii, you can't put coins in your ears. Yes, it's against the law. You can be charged for it. There are numerous laws worse than that.

YES> I was working in Camden NJ and my truck was broken into. Their was a Camden Police Officer at the red light outside where I was working. I shouted over to the officer that my truck had been broken into. The response from the officer was "Call it in. My shift is done." This is why I would not pay you two cents for most city police. To be fair, I must also relate the story of my daughter's trip to the Trama center. Every police officer for 20 miles had the streets blocked so that the ambulance carriing my daughter could procede without slowing down. They saved her life. That day, every second counted and they saved her life. So, I cannot be completely negative on the Camden Police Force. They did save my daughter's life.

yes, they wouldn't come out to arrest the people who trespassed on our land, shooting into the bush and seriously injuring one of our horses, and they can't be bothered to even look for the person who tried to run down my newborn daughter and I, in spite of giving them the liscence plate, model and color of the van he drove...as far as I can see, the police are completely useless, and I resent paying their salaries.

I have never needed, nor wanted one of those types. Some people would argue they are good for something.
