I try to repeat their names at least 3 times at first. Then I try to see if I can associate their name with something I can remember about them. For instance, I have a friend named Julia. The first couple times I met her, I had a real problem remembering her name...then I remembered Julia Gulia from the Wedding Singer Movie. I never called her that but it was how I would remember her name.

i'm not sure... maybe borrow a book on improving memory and apply it??? or studying the person while you're talking to him/her and mentally repeating the person's name in your head??? or writing down the person's name and a short description so you can remember?
