I am most likely being stalked by my local police department.

I live in the suburbs and my local law enforcement can be rediculous at times. I have seen them stop shop lifters with about ten armed cops, in multiple vehicles (they stepped out, lots of cops guns drawn and they dropped soem stuff), this is normal behavior for my local PD.

I really have no problem with law enforcement, I totally agree they get a lot of unneccessary grief from people.

I HAVE NO CRIMINAL RECORD (NO CONVICTIONS, NO TRIALS, NO TICKETS ETC.)

I have encountered them on several occassions over the past several years. I leave these encounters vague as to protect my own privacy.

I will say however that police records would not shed positive light on the local police department's ability to objectively handle situations without prejedice and bias.

I don't want to waste my time with them but I keep finding myself being tailed by them and so forth. How do I adress this to a higher authority if neccessary?

Billy D and others who feel I am, blowing this out of proportion this honestly realy disapoitns me that they do this. Law enforcement gets a lot of unneccessary grief from trouble makers who don't have a good understandign of the law. I shake my had at these people. But what my local PD is doing sickens me. I t onyl hads fuel to the these people who blindly hate law enforcement.

I leave out the details of encounters because they are personal to me.

So what might I do to put and end to this unneccessary harrassment.

If you want to keep the details regarding you "encounters" secret then nobody can possibly help you. Cops have the right to "stop and frisk" anyone who they believe to be demonstrating "suspicious behavior". If they stop and frisk you, cooperate, and then ask what suspicious behavior they saw in you that would lead them to stop and frisk you.

As for them using ten cops to stop shop lifters; did you ask them if that person was a shop lifter? Do you know that that is the only reason that person is being stopped? Perhaps the man had a warrant out for his arrest. I think you're just being paranoid. Why don't you request a ride along to see how they operate. Perhaps this will help you understand what they do on a daily basis.

Call a lieutenant or someone higher then police and explain to them your problem they may be able to help you out in this situation. If you are doing nothing wrong then they have no reason to continually bother you it is wrong and they should know better.

The police are you and I in uniforms and with guns. Sometimes their power gives them the juice to taunt. They are human.
My mom had her ribs broken by our former police chief. (it happened before he was made chief)
