y = (-9x+4)/3
3y = -9x+4
9x = 4-3y
x=(4-3y)/9

1) Get X by itself: To do this Add 3x to each side.
y +3x = -3x +3x + 4/3
This equals y + 3x = 4/3
Now subtract the y from both sides so the x is almost alone.
y -y + 3x = 4/3 -y
This equals 3x = 4/3 -y Almost there!!
Last divide each side by 3.
3x/3 = (4/3 - y) /3
This equals x = (4/3 - y)/3
but lets make the answer look nicer...
instead of dividing 3 lets multiply by 1/3
x = 4/3 * 1/3 - y * 1/3 Final Answer...
x = 4/9 - y/3
Other answers above are basically the same. We just need to remember to clean up our answer :)

y - 4/3 = -3x

-y/3 + 4/9 = x

y = -3x + 4/3

This is basic isolating for the variable buddy

Subtract 4/3 from both sides

y - 4/3 = -3x

Divide both sides by -3

[[[ x = - (y - 4/3) / 3 ]]]

Y=-3X+4/3
3X=4/3-Y
devide both sides by 3
X=(4/3-Y)/3
=(4/3-3Y/3)/3
=((4-3Y)/3)/3
=(4-3Y)/9
There for X=(4-3Y)/9
or X=4/9-Y/3

If you expect definate value of x then one more equation is needed to solve the equation.In terms of Y it is

3x=4/3-Y

i.e.

X=(4-3Y)/9

y=-3x+4/3
y-4/3=-3x
(-1/3)*(y-4/3)=x
4/9-y/3=x
