Legalize it, man.

No really that sucks .. I think police in America spend too much time punishing people for smoking pot [yet somehow celebs get away with plate parties in Beverly Hills that everyone knows about & no one investigates..]. There are child abductors, murderers, ect. roaming the streets & all we worry about are hippies smokin weed ?

& as for the sentence, it depends, but I'm leaning towards too harsh. If he was jus smuggling it in for personal use or use w. friends & stuff ehh much too harsh. But if he had a whole sh!tload of it & was planning to like deal it .. thats a little more deserving. I'm sorry though; that would be horrible to have someone close to you go to jail!

Someone had to have had the pot!! Actually that sentence is about average. Bringing it into the country means Federal offense. He will go to a nicer prison, but will have to do almost all of him time.

You mean to tell me that because he was so popular and everyone was scared of him (not to mention being a drug smuggler) we should go easy on him? Tell you cousin he's lucky he wasn't in Tai Pei. Drug smuggling is punishable by death there.

Maybe he could get out on probation if he testifies against a drug dealer. That is what the famous comedian Tim Allen did, he was busted for cocaine

It depends on the drug. If it was only weed yes the sentence was way to harsh most dealers don't even do that much time.

Someday when you have children and you worry about them trying or doing drugs, you won't think that any sentence is long enough for someone who tries to sell drugs to make a living.

are you joking. it wasn't that everyone liked him. he was the dope man every one liked his dope, there is a big difference. and if he got ten years it wasn't his first offense which meens ya he deserved that long. he'll be out in 7 and a half if he's good.

Sorry for your brother but do think he knew the risk whe he decided to do the crime. Are you seeing a lesson here for yourself-I hope you are

Wow, I am sorry to hear that. Whether it is too harsh depends on the drug and how much he had. But you did not do anything, so I do feel bad for you.
