here's a recipe that my mother gave me before she died
2 cups mud
1 cup water
3 bottle caps
2 ciggerette butts
1 gum wrapper
and 1/4 cup of pebbles to garnish (optional)
refrigerate for one hour or until firm

Oreo Mud Pie
22 OREO Chocolate Sandwich Cookies, finely crushed (about 2 cups crumbs)
3 Tbsp. butter or margarine, melted
1 qt. (4 cups) coffee ice cream, softened
1 cup fudge ice cream topping
MIX cookie crumbs and butter until well blended. Press firmly onto bottom and up side of 9-inch pie plate.
SPREAD ice cream into crust; top with fudge topping.
FREEZE at least 6 hours or until firm. Store leftover pie in freezer.

Decadent Triple Layer Mud Pie
3 squares Baker's semi-sweet baking chocolate, melted
1/4 cup canned sweetened condensed milk
1 OREO pie crust (6 oz)
1/2 cup chopped pecans
2 cups cold milk
2 pkgs. (4-serving size each) Jello-O choc flav instant pudding & pie filling
1 tub (8 oz) Cool Whip topping, thawed, divided
MIX choc and condensed milk until well blended. Pour into crust. Sprinkle with chopped pecans.
POUR milk into large bowl. Add dry pudding mixes. Beat with wire whisk 2 min. or until well blended (mixture will be thick). Spoon 1-1/2 cups of the pudding over pecans in crust. Add half of the whipped topping to remaining pudding; stir with wire whisk until well blended. Spread over pudding layer in crust; top with remaining whipped topping.
REFRIGERATE 3 hours.
