The reason Target in Australia doesn't accept your gift cards from Target in the U.S. is because they are completely separate companies. There is no business connection between them at all. It's confusing because they have the same name and logo - they both use a red bulls-eye and a dog in their advertising. I guess since each company is incorporated in a different country they can continue to do that without fear of legal action.
Here is a webpage telling the history behind Target, Austalia:
http://www.target.com.au/html/services/services.htm#history
And here is a webpage telling the history behind Target, USA:

I recommend you look at the website cardavenue.com. The site allows people to sell, trade, and buy gift cards from each other. You may be able to trade your gift cards for some cards that are valid at a store in Australia. I don't know if the site only serves people with cards for U.S. store locations or if some of the cards are for Austalian companies. You don't want to get stuck with yet another gift card that you can't use, so I recommend you e-mail the customer service for this site and find out this information before making a trade. The e-mail for their customer service is: customerservice@cardavenue.com
If that suggestion doesn't work for you I am recommending the three following courses for action:
OPTION 1:
--------------
Official Target Corporation (USA) policy states that gift cards are non-refundable, however I think it's worth asking their corporate headquarters if they will make an exception, especially if the total dollar value of the cards is substantial. To do this you need to write a letter outlining your story from the very beginning. Explain that the cards were given to you as a gift by someone that thought the Target stores in Australia were part of Target Corporation in the U.S. Even though that may not exactly be the case, it's fair to presume that the gift giver thought you would be able to use them from Australia, perhaps by ordering through the company's website and having the order shipped internationally. By the way, I checked and Target, USA does not ship outside the U.S.
You need to include proof that you are who you say you are, and that this other Target in Australia really exists. Why? Because there is an incredible amount of fraud attempted with gift cards - some people steal them and try to return them to get the cash. That's one of several reasons why it's their policy not to offer refunds on gift cards. In addition, they will need your mailing address in Australia in case they do make an exception and mail you a refund check. I recommend making one photocopy of your driver's license which should have your full legal name and your mailing address. Using a pen or marker black out any other information on your license you don't want them to see, such as the license number itself - they don't need to know that information. While your name and address may be on the outside of the envelope you use, the envelope may be discarded after it's opened and the person who ultimately handles your request may not have it - that's why you need to send a copy of your license or some other ID.
It will add credibility to your story if you include evidence of the fact that there is a Target in Australia. Most Target, USA employees have no idea that a company by the same name exists in Australia. The person who handles your request may not believe it unless you provide proof. What would be ideal is if you could stop at one of your Target stores (if you have one locally) and ask the manager if he/she would kindly write a short letter on the store's letterhead. Explain that you need the manager to write in the letter that you have these gift cards from Target Corporation, USA that they can't honor because their stores aren't part of the same company. The letter should include the address of the store and a phone/fax number for the manager. If the manager at Target in your area won't write a letter for you I would enclose part of one of their paper store ads that shows it's in Australia, or print a copy of the store history page that I referenced at top.
Do NOT send the actual gift cards with this mailing. Instead make photocopies of the backs of all of the cards. If Target, USA decides to make an exception and they need the actual cards they will let you know. It's not a good idea to send the actual cards unless they request them because if they are lost in the mail or if someone steals them then there's absolutely no way you can recover the money if someone uses them. Photocopies, on the other hand, can't be used to make purchases in the store or online. Make certain the photocopies clearly show all the codes on the back of the cards (you may need to scratch off something on the back to reveal one of the codes before photocopying) because the company needs the codes to deactivate the cards in their computer system before any refund can be issued.
In review, here's what you need to send:
a) Letter explaining your story in full
b) Copy of your license or other ID showing your full name and address
c) Copy of back of all the gift cards (after you've scratched off any extra coating on the back that may be covering an additional code)
d) A letter from a manager in one of your local Target stores explaining that they will not honor the cards (ask them to write it on store letterhead which should have their address & phone #) or if the manager won't write a letter include part of a store ad or print out of page from website as evidence of the Target in Australia.
***Do not send any credit card information. If they make an exception the only method they will use to refund you is a refund check.
Make a duplicate copy of your letter, the store manager's letter, and all other information you send for your own records. Mail the information to the company's headquarters at:
Target Corporation, USA
Headquarters City Center
1000 Nicollet Ave
Minneapolis, MN 55403-2542
United States
***Please note, I am not a current employee of Target and do not speak for the company. I'm sharing my advice based on my personal experience as a private consumer.
OPTION 2:
--------------
Assuming you know the person(s) well who gave you the gift cards and you have a positive relationship, I would inform them of the fact that you are unable to use the gift cards and the reason why. I am sure they will be understanding and will want to help you rather than have the gift cards go to waste.
You may want to ask them if they would be willing to let you mail the gift cards back to them and have them buy something from Target in the U.S. that you want and then ship it to you. You could go to the Target website (make sure it's the website for Target in U.S.), pick something you think you would like, and ask them if they could buy it from the store using the gift cards and ship it to you in Australia. If it's not available in the store itself they could always go online to order the item from the website, have it shipped to them within the U.S., and then ship it to you. That way they wouldn't even have to package the item(s) for you. If would be all boxed up and ready to go. The person who ships you the box can let you know the shipping cost and you can reimburse them. I highly recommend picking out an item or items that are very light in weight like jewelry, music, linens, etc. You don't want to pick something heavy like an appliance because then you will have to pay a very large sum for the shipping cost. And you probably don't want to order DVD or VHS movies because the copies sold in the U.S. probably won't work on players sold in Australia.
In the course of discussing this with them they may even offer to take the gift cards off your hands and give you money in return or offer to buy you a different gift.
OPTION 3:
--------------
If you don't know the person(s) that gave you the gift cards that well or if you just don't feel comfortable asking them to help you for some reason, I would ask a close relative or friend that you have in the U.S. to help you in the same way mentioned in 2nd option.
Again, if you pick something out on the website and mail the gift cards and the description of the item(s) you want from the website (including item numbers) to a trusted relative/friend, they could order the merchandise to be delivered to them and then simply ship the box to you. They wouldn't have to pack anything, just take the box to their local post office or UPS office. You can then reimburse them for the shipping.
I hope one of these suggestions works for you.

A lot of interested traders are asking themselves the question if you can really make money with binary options? The answer is that you can indeed make money in binary options trading. Learn here https://tr.im/5Gn0Z
Obviously this is a perfectly legitimate question considering that most people have not traded binary options in the past and generally believe that investing is a very difficult activity.
However, you will have to put an effort into it. You will have to learn money management, reading of charts as well as the usage of indicators.

the best trading software http://tradingsolution.info
i have attended a lot of seminars, read counless books on forex trading and it all cost me thousands of dollars. the worst thing was i blew up my first account. after that i opened another account and the same thing happened again. i started to wonder why i couldn,t make any money in forex trading. at first i thought i knew everything about trading. finally i found that the main problem i have was i did not have the right mental in trading. as we know that psychology has great impact on our trading result. apart from psychology issue, there is another problem that we have to address. they are money management, market analysis, and entry/exit rules. to me money management is important in trading. i opened another account and start to trade profitably after i learnt from my past mistake. i don't trade emotionally anymore.
if you are serious about trading you need to address your weakness and try to fix it. no forex guru can make you Professional trader unless you want to learn from your mistake.

If Target said no, then that means it won't work. Probably best to try ebay and send them back to America.
