I have been developing this story in my head for years, I really want to get it down on paper and I think I'm about ready to...but I'm a beginner at writting.

I need some good ways on developing a title.Any tips?
Thanks.

I'm confused. You've been developing this for years and you think the title is important and can't think of one?? This makes me wonder if you've given any thought to your story which is a million times more important than your title.

Whenever I see your question asked here, as well as questions where people need names of characters, I think to myself that they're not serious about writing a story. Names and titles don't make a story. If your story is poor a title won't help it. If your story is great your title still won't help it. Perhaps you might want to ask questions about how you're developing the story instead and get into the real meat of the problem. My criticism is only to help you. When I read that you were developing this for years and this is your question I can feel you must be suffering.

To title means to name. A title should point to something solid that is in the story: a character, the setting, the theme, premise. Some name more than one element.

Your title won't make your story. It seems like you haven't actually found the theme of your story. I certainly hope you haven't written it before realizing that.

Just start writing most authors will change the title of a story two or three times before it goes to the publisher.

The best advice I can give is write on what you know that allows you to put more realism into the story and you know how a person reacts.

Good Luck and don't get discouraged.

1) Finish School!
2) Start writing now.
3) Revise the writing that you do.
4) Read what you wrote - that may suggest a title, or two.

Worry about the title after the story is written. It is a lot easier to come up with a title for something that is written than something that is not.
