chemiosmosis occurs in both plants and animals... the most important use of them is the chemiosmosis of Hydrogen ions down an electrochemical gradient in the chloroplasts/mitochondria which is responsible for the production of ATP.

um what little i know of this chemiosmosis is that it deals with bioenergetics
