How many ounces is she taking in when she does take her bottle?

Is she continuing to have wet/soiled diapers every 3 hours or so and are her mucuous membranes moist (inside of mouth)? If NO, IMMEDIATELY get her to a hospital for evaluation.

Firstly the schedule is only an approximate guide to how often to feed the average baby. Most don't keep to it - sometimes wanting a feed sooner and balancing that by wanting to go for a longer time before another.
Next as babies get older they are able to take more at each feed so they don't want to feed again so soon, Often in the morning if they sleep through the night they will want two feeds close together then have a fairly long gap before they're ready for another.
As well by about 3 months they are starting teething. This varies from one baby to another. Some have no problem at all & you just suddenly find a tooth, but others can have quite sore gums even for a while befoe the teeth come through which can make sucking painful. They might only want to feed when they're quite hungry.
The other consideration is that by the time baby has reached 3 months they are starting solid foods which fill them more than just milk. Agian they can go longer between meals.
If the total amount including solids & milk that your baby is taking is at least the same as before don't worry.
If there is anything else happening that is very different, or if you are still worried - see the doctor even if only to reassure yourself. It's better to be safe than sorry.

Hi for a 12 week old to be doing this regularly,I would be asking a few more questions.
At 3 months baby is awake more, and some are even starting cereal.
thats my first question have you introduced cereal?maybe she is too full to drink the formula?
is she sleeping this long period of 8-10 hours? if so this is not usual and I would have her to the doctor to see if she is unwell as some babies don't get a temp but go off thier food when unwell.
I would let her go 6 hours but not longer. I'd be waking her if asleep and offering if awake.Try not to force her to feed as you can create another problem. At 3 months there really shouldn't be a schedule. The 4 hourly feed is just a guide. If this is only a one off, or just the odd day here and there, I would not worry.
If you are concerned that she is not getting enough in the day, make her full amount for the day in a jug. If the jug is only half gone by the 24 hours then she is definately not drinking enough.

As babies get older, their eating habits change. Do you offer her a bottle and she won't take it? That's a problem for a doctor.

8 hours is way too long for a 3 month old to go without food.

She doesn't have to follow a schedule ncecessarily...if a young baby cries, it means 1 of several things:

1. Hunger
2. Diaper needs changing
3. She wants to be held.
4. She doesn't feel well

There may be other factors causing her lack of appetite,if she has one. But first, I would stop trying to go with the schedule, if that's why she's only eating every 8-10 hours, and see if she will eat when she cries, or even after a diaper change.

However, a doctor can clear this up for you. Give yours a call or go to see him or her. ASAP.

Hope this helps.

I have a six month old and I went through the same problem, what it is your baby is getting older, and she wants to drink her formula when she's ready it's called feeding on demand. This means when she wants it she'll let you know. I took my son to the doctor because I thought he was ill. That's not the case, so don't panic stay calm, she just wants it when she wants it.

It's okay not to have a schdule, especially this early, but 8-10 hours isn't ideally safe. Dehydration is a concern for babies that aren't drinking. I would check to make sure the baby isn't dehydrated (make sure she has tears, a wet mouth, and wets diapers), and if she's okay, give the doctor a call and see what he suggests. If she is dehydrated, get her to the ER.

i could call the pediatrician just to substantiate. in case you think of she's teething, then it would desire to be that her mouth is sore and he or she does not opt to drink something. it would additionally be that she's hitting a developmental milestone. specifically circumstances while this occurs, infants will end eating simply by fact they're too busy engaged on some thing they're getting to grasp to do. even nevertheless, i've got not heard of it happening this early. another probability is that she's ill in some way, so which you're definitely suited in calling the pediatrician just to substantiate. save song of what she's eating and take that with you to the pediatrician's place of work. solid success!

She's getting older so her demand of many feedings will wane, what you want to be careful of to make sure her number of oz increase at a feeding.

2-3 months during the day you want 4 oz every four hours.

But if she is gain weight, try not to worry.

WOW! That's a long time. I would call your daughter's doc's office and talk to his nurse. My son had periods where he would get off schedule, but not that long.
