If its a newer sports bike you can always take it to a speed shop and they can modify the restrictions set on the computer set up by the factory.

You can also purchase a power commander. Which is a device that sits inline between the motorcycles ECU and the rest of the system. It will intercept the ECU signals and substitute its own. It is a nice alternative to have a new program burned into your existing ECU.

The company will usually provide you with a few different pre made performance mappings for the bike. Additionally you can tune the motorcycle yourself via your laptop.
