No because most of them were Third World Countries. They loved seeing Americans! Politics were never in the equation of communication.
The countries like England, Canada, Germany, and Spain had better things to talk about then politics in America or their own country.
Few people ever spoke on politics.

I have lived in Europe for ten years in different countries. In each and every one of them I have had to put up with America hating conversation and comments. Which by the way were totally unsolicited. I have never brought up politics or anything good or bad about the US.
I am not in the military and and have lived far away from other Americans in the countries I have lived in.
In the UK I have been spit on and had a pint glass thrown at me, behind my back of course, just because some bloke did not want a yank in his pub. The same has happened in Spain. No matter where I was living I got to hear how terrible America is.
I have found the Australians and Kiwis to be the most upset with America. They will actually tell you they do not like Americans as people. That is scary.
The thing most infuriated people cite as not liking about the US is the very thing they love. The American culture. Movies, music, food, books, two cars in the garage, cell phone, Internet, be who you want to be.

Was in the Navy in the mid 70s. When in England, I was in a pub, and talking to 2 of the locals. They kept asking me what took us (Americans)so long. I didn't know what they were talking about. Finally, they said that they never understood why we waited so long to get involved in WWII. I was only 20, and wasn't born until 10yrs. after the war, so I had no idea. I realized just what an effect that that war had on the British. Then I started noticing that it is all through their music. Especilly Pink Floyd and the Who.

Nope, I was too busy kissing my Danish fiance to care about politics, lol. And when I went to England and France I was too busy sight seeing and taking in the culture. And then when I went to Sweden I was busy camping and swimming in their gorgeous lakes.

No, I stopped visiting after 9/11, or they WOULD talk about that.
Instead, they were excited to see an American, they used to love them, until that day occured.
