Thanks to all who read and answered my questions in the past.

I live in Jacksonville, FL and have DirecTV with the Sports Package (NESN, YES, SNY, FSx).

I know I won't be able to watch MLB Games on their respective local networks unless I pay the Extra Innings $$$$ - my question is, will I get to watch the pre-game and post-game on NESN (for instance) or will DirecTV black that out too?

Another question - I have heard that Directv has exclusivity for Extra Innings this year - is that true?

I am sure those who live in the Northeast who receive NESN on their local packages will still be able to watch the pre-game, the game itself, and post-game.

My question is for those outside the local viewing area - what have you been able to watch in the past? Pre-game? Post-game?

From what I've read, and I'm a DirectTv subscriber, is that DTV hasn't signed the deal yet but are super close to it. MLB and DTV are working out the details. If signed it would give DTV exclusive rights, including the local channel broadcasts, for all MLB games during the season. This is why Senator Kerry is looking into the legality to what he feels is a monopoly siutaion. NESN would only get the pregame and postgame broadcasts. Fans here in NY would get the YES pregame and postgame.

as a baseball fan myself and orderer of extra innings on directTV, u, 4 the most part, will NOT get the pre/post game reports on extra innings. It will black u out about 2 minutes after the game. However on occasion u will be able to pick up a pre or post game report. And Yes, i believe that xtra innings is exclusive 2 direcTV this year.

We have DirecTV and have always been able to watch the NESN pre- and post-game shows, as well as the game itself. I hope there will not be a change in that.

I have also heard that they have the Extra Innings rights this year.

Yes you should be able to watch the pre and post game shows. After all only the game is blacked out. I dont know who actually has to hit the button to enable or disable the black out but hopefully they are on the ball and do it at the correct times.

They're Cancel the Game itself, and Extra Innings is a DirectTV Subsidary, so No and Yes.

There are no blackouts on NESN. Another poster was correct, NESN only shows a two hour replay. If Direct TV is blacking them out, that sucks. Contact NESN and inquire. Not a sox fan, but live in new england.
