I was intrested to know if there was anything out there that I could use so that when I am out on the streets, I can use my Laptop with internet using either my cell phone or something similar? I know there is the new things from Verizon, Alltel, and all of the other Companys but I would like to know if there was something cheaper like dose clearwire allow you to do something like that? I am always using my laptop on the streets and needed something so that I could use the internet with. I am really not intrested in speed (although the faster, the better) but just in case I may need to check my email or simple basic things like that. If theres somethin like I can connect my cell phone to the laptop and use it for that even if it uses my minutes? Thank You in advance!!!

Well. currently right now. Using the Cell phone providers is about the only way to get the most access where ever you go. Other wise. You'll just have to buy a laptop card (unless your laptop has wireless built in) and do searches for OPEN networks.

Get yourself a wireless network card, set up your laptop to search for any open networks within your vicinity, and use whatever it finds. Chances are that nobody on such an open wireless network will even know you've done so. If they do, the worst they can really do is boot you off of their network anyway.

Sprint's phone the M1 works great. i have one myself, 1GB of free space works great with my MP3's it'll run you about 160. Also they just began production on a device that turns your car into a hotspot. cost 300 bucks and 20 bucks a month, don't know when they'll release it though. hopefully soon.
