It depends on the computer case. Some require you to unscrew it from the back.

Look in the back of the computer, unscrew the silver screws and slide the cover off.

Some cases you have to remove the front by pulling the lever. Then you unscrew it and slide the cover too.

Some don't use screws, they use latches.

The above instructions cover most of the cases out there though.

It depends on what type of cover/computer. Generally, if it is a tower (vertically oriented) there will be a screw near the side of back of the computer that will need to be removed. Lay the computer with the side you are removing facing up, then put your hands palm down on the side of the computer and while applying slightly downward force push the cover off the back of the computer.

Most computers can be assembled and disassembled with a Phillips screwdriver. Remove all of the Phillips screws on the back of the case which hold the side panels on and then they should slide off the case in some way.

Unfortuneately, they are all different. Many have thumbscrews on the back which are first unscrewed. Then the cover slides off using the friction of your fingers against the sides.

I called Dell computers not long ago, when I was going to add Memory to my computer. The back is easy to unscrew, but then make sure you GROUND YOURSELF before touching anything!
If you still have free tech help, they will talk you through it over the phone, and if not , you can email them for the specifics for your model.

on the back side - there should be several (3-6) screws that need to come out first - (keep track of them - they are small)
the slide the side towards the rear where you took them off

ps - make sure your power is off - computer unplugged and
drained for static electricity

best of luck

Usually you unscrew the screws on the back that go aruond the edge of the shell. Then it should just slide off nice and simply.

I assume you mean the case. At the back or the side, there should be two screws. Undo them and the side panel should slide out backwards
