You can only lean against that which resists?

in your opinion what do you think it means

Opposing forces help each other stand. If you are depressed, you need to depend on someone who will be a positive influence on you, not someone who is also depressed and cannot hold you up.

Likewise, to make any kind of great difference in the world or to be able to form a complete opinion, you need the people who are against you. You need multiple parties in Congress, so they can approach issues from different angles and make the decisions that are the best all around. You need the people around you who disagree with your views so that you can debate and come to understand your opinion more fully--either to strengthen it or reject it in your search for the truth.

Without opposing forces, there would be no progress.

If you lean against something with no resistance (A force that tends to oppose or stop motion) gravity will take effect and you will fall.

That's not true. You're in the culture section. Some people don't resist and are called pushovers. Human nature always tries to find the path to least resistance.

Jesus is the "rock", the foundation of the church, ask Peter. by faith,very capable of standing up to mans resistance.
