Whether it's on another planet in our galaxy, or some planet out there in the huge universe, do you think there is any form of life anywhere else? What about intelligent life?

I have a sort of weird opinion on this one...
So I'm a Christian, and have been my entire life (which is only 15 years, but still...), but I believe that like many of you said, this universe is so gigantic that it's nearly impossible for there to NOT be any other forms of life.
So if I were speaking from an atheist's point of view, I would say that we supposedly started out as little cells and evolved over millions of years into the creatures we are now. So it's highly possible (and likely) that another planet in this incredibly large planet has life forms like that. I mean all they really need is carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, and phosphorus, right? I don't know, something like that.
However, I am a Christian, so I'm inclined to believe that we are the only life forms in the universe, and that God made us unique and for the sole purpose of serving Him.
But why is the universe so big if we're the only life in this universe? What's the point of the rest of that space?

I believe that for a person to believe they are the only life in the Universe is the absolute apex of arrogance.
In fact, I think that when we actually make it to the stars in thousand years or so, we will find the absence of life to be the unusual. Life has and will take many forms, some we may not recognize but I think basic life will be all over the place with a liberal sprinkling of intelligent life through out the universe. Don't get me wrong, I don't think we will find technologically advance beings on every planet we visit. But, it wouldn't surprise me if we found basic life in one out of three solar systems we visited. And, intelligent life in one of every 100 or so solar systems.
In short I think we will find an abundance of life in the universe.

Socotra that's an element of a team of four islands, has been geographically remoted from mainland Africa for the final 6 or 7 million years. like the Galapagos Islands, this island is teeming with seven-hundred somewhat uncommon species of wildlife, an entire a million/3 of that are endemic, i.e. found nowhere else in the international. The climate is harsh, warm and dry, and yet - the main astounding plant existence flourishes there. located interior the Indian Ocean 250 km from Somalia and 340 km from Yemen, the huge sandy beaches upward push to limestone plateaus comprehensive of caves (some 7 kilometers in length) and mountains as much as 1525 meters intense. additionally latest in Socotra's panorama is the ever-unusual and somewhat uncommon Cucumber Tree (dendrosicyos socotranum). The Dragon's Blood Tree, has branches that unfold out into the sky and from decrease than seem to hover over the panorama like such lots of alien craft... and from above they have a various mushroom look. they seem to be a source of powerful resin for varnishes, dyes, and "medical care-all" drugs. Getting around may well be a challenge, as there are noticeably much no roads. besides the undeniable fact that this island has around 40,000 inhabitants, the Yemeni govenment put in the 1st roads purely 2 years in the past - after negotiations with UNESCO, which has declared this island a international organic background internet site.

I believe there is other life in the universe. It seems silly that we are the only planet with life. Of course if there is other life, then it is absolutely intelligent life. I would be arrogant to assume we are the only intelligent beings in the universe. Besides, are we really all that intelligent? Look at the wars in this world, all over the most ridiculous things, religion and such. If we were as intelligent as we think we are, why would we fight over such ridiculous things.

When someone asks that ques ton the thing to remember is that lifeforms exist in several lifeforms, and I do be live that life exists in other galaxies in some form. That does not mean that life is intelligent. The earth is in a unique situation where it is the right distance from the sun to maintain an adequate temperature, and the atmosphere protects us from harmful elements of space. These two elements limit the possibilities of existence of life but the universe is infinite....

I think bacteria exists in other planets.
However a lot would have to be just right for life to exist in another planet. So maybe.

There is definitely extraterrestrial life out there and to hide behind all this Jesus and Bible mumbo jumbo is just an arrogant , religious brain washing exercise.. If you could get into the Vatican and get hold of all the secrets stored within , then you would find that what they have tried so hard to keep from the public , is that what you believe and how it is really supposed to be are not the same.. They would all be out of a job , the Pope would be on the dole

Yes, undoubtedly there are other intelligent life forms that exist out there somewhere. To deny this would be pompous of us. Of the billions and trillions celestial bodies out there, how can Planet Earth be the only one with life??

Yes, the universe is just too big to not to. But maybe it's very very different than us. Maybe the life form is form like liquid or jelly, or the life form is not visible to see with our eye. Maybe they live on a very cold planet or a very acid planet, that if we live on that environtment we will die very fast.
Intellegent life ? Yes. Think about the age of the universe and the evolution on earth. Earth is very-very young compare to the age of the universe. But perhaps their intellegentia not like your idea at all.
Just use your fantasy, perhaps you will understand...

Well it doesnt say anything about Jesus dying for any other people besides us in the Bible so Id have to say no. He made the heavens and the earth. Says nothing about any others made in His image. This is an interesting thing I have heard. What people call UFO's are actually angels and demons. Okay no I dont buy it but, some people do. Guess we will finally know when we meet the Lord. Well if Heaven is your final destination. Think about that................yeah youre actually going to die someday its a fact. If you havent already repent. Repent and start your relationship with God today. Peace out....................
